If selected for this awesome position, you’ll serve as a clinician for the caseload in this dermatology department. Utilize your experience, and complete full body skin examinations. You’ll provide medical evaluations and treatment to patients. You’ll develop treatment plans and monitors patients progress. Plan to modify treatment plans as needed. Assessing patients past medical history and determining health and emotional status through interview and/or physical examination.
While we’re at it, let’s talk about what else you can expect:
Obtains and analyzes patient history and updates medical records and charts to reflect current state of health. Advises patients on results of laboratory tests and recommends referrals to specialists or medical facilities.
Prescribes and dispenses medications and provides instruction regarding treatment. Evaluates and monitors patient’s reaction to medication and recommends change in prescribed dosage or termination of medication.
Examines patient on a regular basis, and evaluates the treatment regimen. Instructs and counsels patients and their families in the treatment regimen, as well as other medical and health related matters.
In collaboration with physician, assesses patient condition, determines appropriate care and prescribes medication. Performs simple office procedures (skin scrapings, skin biopsy, cyst and keloid injections,etc.) as appropriate. Determines need for additional evaluation or refers patient to other specialists or services within the guidelines of the department’s practice. Documents symptoms in medical records including diagnosis and proposed plan of care. Provides on-going emotional support to patient and families and determines need for continued counseling. Encourages compliance with treatment plan through explanation, assessment of patient understanding and regular patient monitoring.
Works independently and as a team player in collaboration with the staff on dermatology and building-wide projects and events. Strives to achieve (and maintain) consistent quality care for the good of our patient population.
